Afends is a lifestyle brand that creates timeless clothing for both men and women alike. Their clothing is inspired by the skate and surf culture famously adorned at home in Byron Bay. They use sustainable materials such as organic cotton and hemp to create staple pieces that will last you for years to come.

What makes them sustainable?

Afends is a great leader in the sustainable fashion movement. They carefully choose sustainable materials to create their clothing that have the least impact on the environment as possible, such as hemp and organic cotton. They offset their carbon emissions, use compostable packaging, and make quality clothing that lasts! It doesn't get much more sustainable than that.

Do they have ethical policies in place?

Mostly. Their products are designed at home in Australia, but they are manufactured in China, where there is not much evidence that they pay their workers throughout the supply chain a fair and living wage. That said, there is evidence that the work culture is great at home in Australia. The only animal product they use is leather, but it is responsibly sourced.

Is their shipping carbon neutral or sustainable?

Transportation Net zero carbon is a goal at Afends. They have begun by proactively addressing the CO2 footprint of their production import freight services performed by their logistics suppliers including airlines, shipping lines and haulage companies. Currently all of their inbound production shipments are now carbon neutral!

Is their packaging sustainable or recyclable?

Afends is working towards all of their packaging being 100% recyclable and compostable. All of their clothing is packaged in cornstarch garment bags that are compostable and non-toxic!
