Fair Trade Winds works with about 150 artisan organizations in 57 countries around the world. The artisan groups range in size from just a handful in one small community to thousands spread out over entire countries. Each group prides itself in the work they do, and Fair Trade Winds provides a platform where they can sell their ethically and sustainably produced products.

What makes them sustainable?

Fair Trade Winds is all around a sustainable business. They encourage small scale artisans to create products with the Earth and farmers best interest in mind. They also minimize their impact on the environment by producing items on a small scale and using eco-friendly materials.

Do they have ethical policies in place?

Yes. Being Fair Trade Certified, they ensure living and fair wages for all members throughout their supply chain. They encourage independent artisans to sell products that they are passionate about while taking care of the environment. Some artisans do use animal products, but they all come from a reputable Fair Trade farmer.

Is their shipping carbon neutral or sustainable?

There is no evidence of carbon off-setting or carbon-neutral shipping.

Is their packaging sustainable or recyclable?

They re-use boxes and packaging for shipping whenever possible. They mostly use cardboard and recycled paper for their packaging.
