Rachel Budde created "Fat and the Moon" because as a herbalist and natural healer, she believed that everyone should have quality and natural body care without the harsh chemicals. She only uses the most natural and sustainable ingredients in her cosmetics. Each product is hand made to order.
Their dedication to running their business as zero waste as possible. It is a difficult process in the beauty industry, but they make it work because they believe their impact on the environment should be minimal. They feel a deep connection with the Earth and the ingredients it provides to create their beautiful makeup.
Yes! They are a cruelty-free company and have vegan-friendly products. Their lip products contain beeswax, but the beeswax is sustainably and ethically sourced. They hand make their products at home in the USA and have a small team of employees who are all treated fairly.
There is no evidence of carbon off-setting or carbon-neutral shipping. However, they do source their ingredients locally to reduce their carbon footprint.
All of their products come in glass or aluminum jars which can be refilled and recycled. They are nearly a zero-waste company aside from the plastic spray nozzles, which they are working on finding a more sustainable option! All of their orders are packaged in recycled and completely recyclable materials.
