Patagonia operates with a dedication to making our Earth a better place by funding multiple environmental initiatives through its adventure clothing brand.

What makes them sustainable?

The amount that Patagonia gives back to the environment is truly admirable. They aim to be sustainable and produce as little waste as possible in every stage of the production of their clothing.

Do they have ethical policies in place?

Mostly. Patagonia rejects fast fashion by creating high-quality, long-lasting products and they offer a repair and reuse program to create sustainability in their supply chain. They also respect animal welfare by only using feathers accredited by The Responsible Down Standard, but they do use leather in some products. There is not much information available about their labour conditions.

Is their shipping carbon neutral or sustainable?

Their shipping is not currently carbon neutral, but they've set an ambitious goal to reach carbon neutrality by 2025 across their entire business, including the supply chain.

Is their packaging sustainable or recyclable?

For packaging and shipping, they use bags made from 100% recycled material, as well as cardboard boxes that are easily recyclable.
