Reformation believes that being naked is the most sustainable option, but wearing their clothing is the second most sustainable option. They recycle materials and ethically source new fabrics to create the most beautiful vintage inspired women's clothing.
Many things make Reformation sustainable, mainly their attention to detail and environmental responsibility. They put sustainability at the core of everything they do by investing in green building infrastructure to minimize their waste, water, and energy footprints. They provide on-the-job training and opportunities for growth, as well as investing in their employees. They're an all-around amazingly sustainable company.
Mostly. Aside from using environmentally friendly materials and utilizing renewable energy in their supply chain, there is evidence that Reformation is socially ethical. They have a project to increase wages in their supply chain, and they visit their suppliers often. They do use animal products such as leather, recycled wool, and exotic animal hair.
Reformation has been entirely carbon neutral since 2015, however they have a new goal to become carbon positive in 2021! You can rest assured that all of your online orders are carbon neutral.
Reformation has a couple of different bags in circulation. Some are 100% compostable bags made of bio-based materials. Although since composting in the US isn’t quite there yet in terms of accessibility, they’ve switched to 100% recycled LDPE bags with a biodegradable polymer (BDP) that allows it to break down in landfills!
